Drumlanrig Castle & Gardens is a grand 17th-century estate near Thornhill with Victorian gardens, woodland river walks and its own castle tea room, plus a large adventure playground for children. An admission ticket is needed for the grounds, but once inside, kids can run off energy on the playground before or after tea, coffee and cakes at the tea room.
